ED glass lens of high performance
The objective lens which is the key to performance is ED glass (special low-dispersion glass) that exhibits extremely excellent optical performance. Despite the high magnification of 16x, it achieves sharp images with minimal color fringing.
Vibration canceller system equipped! Stable sight despite shaking
Binoculars have appeal for looking through readily by holding in hand, but high magnification can cause noticeable vibrations that blur the image. Atera II ED H16×50WP is equipped with an image stabilization mechanism using a 2-axis gimbal control vibration-canceling system.Powerful compensation for vibration as it corrects angles of ±2 degrees (up, down, left, and right), an extremely stable field of sight is a result even at a high magnification of 16x, which previously required the use of a tripod and making it suitable for various observing scenes.

Two types of vibration-canceling modes you can choose according to your preference
ATERA II ED H16x50WP has two types of vibration-canceling modes that can be switched according to the usage scene. V1 mode: Absorbs small motion of vibration. V2 mode: Absorbs slow and large motion of vibration.
Three different types of exceptional optical coatings provide a clear and sharp field of sight
Every surface of the lenses has anti-reflective multi-layer coatings (flat multi-coatings) that are stacked with more than seven layers, which features Vixen's highest level of anti-reflection. Reduced light loss compared with ordinary 3-layer-multi-coatings leads to images with exceptional contrast and brightness.
Prisms with phase coated reduce halation and dramatically increase resolution. Every optical surface of the subsidiary prisms has super high reflectivity (SHR) coatings using dielectric multi-layers.
These three types of optical coating eliminate stray light and light loss at a level exceptionally high, resulting in sharp and detailed vision with high contrast that only a top-of-the-line model can provide.
Hydrophobic coatings always make the field of sight clear
The adhesion of dirt to the lens (especially on the eyepiece) reduces the binoculars' high optical performance by diminishing contrast and resolution. The ATERA II ED H16×50WP, therefore, is provided with a special coating that prevents dirt from attaching to the surfaces of the objective lens and eyepiece so that you can use it for the best performance every time you view through the binocular. Even if fingerprints or dirt get on the lens, you can easily wipe them off, keeping the surface clean at all times.
The grip strap helps in holding securely by a single hand
It includes a grip strap that helps you reduce hand fatigue. The grip strap enables you to hold the binoculars by using not only your gripping strength but also the back of your hand. You won't get tired even if you hold the binoculars with one hand for a long time, and thus it is very helpful to use it at concerts, etc. You can also adjust the size by length to suit your hand. Five different colors of grip straps are supplied for your preference. A neck strap comes with standard too, allowing you to use it according to your preference.
Ease-of-grip form and excellence at operating
The middle part of the binocular body, as it is the center of gravity, is narrow, making it easy to grip with the fingers. Despite its large 50 mm aperture, this model offers excellent holding ability ensuring minimal fatigue even during extended use. Other features include a smooth focusing ring that can be easily operated with one finger, a universal design for both left and right-handed users, and the placement of a battery compartment that does not interfere with finger movements.
Extended use of 16 hours with two AAA batteries
It can be used continuously for up to 16 hours with just two AAA alkaline batteries, which are readily available. With its auto power-off function, it takes care of itself by shutting down after 90 minutes* of use. (In the case of using new alkaline batteries at a temperature of 20°C.)The battery cover is integrated into the body and you can rest assured that there is no risk of losing it even in the dark.
Waterproof design ensures safe use even outdoors
The waterproof specification (optical system:IPX7 equivalent、battery box:IPX4 equivalent) filled with inert nitrogen gas allows for safe use either indoors or outdoors. Comes with a pouch-type binocular case featuring transparent pockets.
